Baring my soul – Part 2…I did it! I did it!

Hello, fellow minimalist!

Now that I’ve had my slight Dora the Explorer moment, I wanted to let y’all know that I worked on quadrant 1, and boy howdy was it entertaining!

Some of the things I discovered were:

• A box (yes, there was a box under there!) with about 50 CDs in it, 30 we didn’t even take the time to label. If they didn’t deserve a label then, they don’t deserve me listening to them now. They have now been trashed. (I know. I put them in a landfill, but I didn’t know what else to do with the boogers.)
• Cables to devices that I don’t think made it into this century with us.
• A bookmark, which our dog ate soon after I found it. Again, the discarded remains are now in a landfill.
• Numerous pens and pencils that are now not located in a landfill but in our pen and pencil cup.

It’s not perfect. but here is stage 2:

In all, cleaning Quadrant 1 and scooching into Quadrant 2 took about 15 minutes, and  only because of the “50 CD Surprise” I had to go through.

Simple De-clutter tip o’ the day:

If you have a clutter that needs to be demolished and you simply can’t bring yourself to tackling it, set a timer for 15 minutes and get to work. You’d be amazed at how much you can accomplish in 15 minutes! When the timer goes off, you’re done! Caput! Finito! (Is that a word?) If 15 minutes is too daunting, set the timer for 5 or 10. No biggie. It’s your time, and your de-clutter moment. Make it your own. 🙂 ~Idea courtesy of the Flylady at www.flylady.com

If I can do this whole de-clutter/simplify thing, then you can do this, too!!!! Make it easy and fun, and it will take care of itself.

De-cluttering is an adventure! There’s no telling what you’ll find when you start digging deeper. What’s in your box?
