I had a revelation. An epiphany you might say.
Christmas is eight days away.
Did you know that?
So in the midst of working, living, and simplifying, I neglected to decorate, buy gifts and bake delicious Christmas goodies.
It’s how many days ’til Christmas?!?!?
But, really, do decorations and gifts make it Christmas? Not really. Christmas is about our savior Jesus Christ debuting on earth walking with us, knowing our faults and temptations and CONQUERING THE GRAVE.
So this year, I will remember why we celebrate and hold this season blessed. Not because of sugar cookies and gifts, but because our God loved us so much He came to earth to be with us.
And, to teach us how we are to treat each other because we aren’t bright enough to figure it our for ourselves.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32 NIV)
Be kind to each other this season. It’s rough out there for too many of us. Love those who at times can be unlovable. I know sometimes I am that unlovable person. Probably more often than I like.
I’m off to do some last minute gift brainstorming. I’ll blog more about that soon. Until then, celebrate Jesus’s birth with those you love this week. And, call someone you’ve been putting off calling for way too long.
