Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith. ~Hebrews 10:19-22
Today is a day like no other. I don’t have to work (at least go to the day job), I went to a very neat meeting bright and early about ending hunger in our country, and now I am writing from the comfort of my sofa surrounded by pillows, blankets, and three very toasty canines, of which one is lulling me to sleep with her gentle pug snoring.
God is so good to me. 🙂
He is good to you, too. He erased the veil for us. He sent His ONLY son to earth to take on our sins and be the scapegoat for us forever covering us in His blood.
Yesterday I watched a five-day-old baby. I looked into his sweet face all day long. He wasn’t even mine, but I was drawn to his innocense, his beauty, his newness. Everything that God made His son to be. The dawn of a new time. A time of forgiveness and relationship. God birthed His Son knowing full well what would happen.
What it must have been like to turn His back in that moment. God knew what had to happen, but He couldn’t watch.
The greatest sacrifice of all time was made for us on that day. Thank you, Father. Thank you, Jesus, for taking that on. For going through with it. You didn’t have to.
But, You did.
Thank You. I receive it.
