Ya know, only recently did I realize that line was from a Bible verse — when I truly got in the word.
Ecclesiastes 3 (NIV)
A Time for Everything
3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
I feel like I’ve lived in a time of mourning for way too long. I felt my season was inevitable, never ending and deserved. I felt like dried-up driftwood run amok on a deserted beach.
Until I read the word.
Also from Ecclesiastes:
Ecclesiastes 2:26 (NIV)
26 To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
God is faithful. And, He loves His children. Are you living in a difficult season?
Is your child sick?
Is your marriage failing?
Is your heart dead?
God is a healer. He is the divine healer. Everything IS a season. Only He can turn this around. Trust in Him. Pray to Him unceasingly. He loves you. And, He listens.
To all those who needed to hear this, I pray for you tonight. Be blessed. Be joy-filled. Be relaxed. For our God the Great Provider is with you.
May it be your time to dance.
