This morning, after dropping our daughter off to school, I heard a peculiar little bird call coming from a tree above our car.
It sounded like a sweet, little dove. I never saw the bird, though I peered through the branches as best I could.
Then I heard an echo. The same sweet voice sang from about two trees down.
The two voices heard each other in the midst of traffic, parents saying goodbye, and a cacophony of grackles and mockingbirds.
These two birds knew each other’s voices.
John 10:27 (NKJV)
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
there are many mentions of our Lord being a shepherd. Psalm 23 is the most noted. But on and on we are encouraged to view God has our shepherd. Guiding us through hardship. Making a sweet path for us in times of trouble. Delivering us out of harms reach with the crook of His staff. He is our protector, our GPS, and our provider.
Are you allowing God to lead you today? Or are you a little rogue lamb frolicking into a field of wolves, thorny bushes and disobedient behavior?
Allow God to be your shepherd today. Let Him guide you where you need to be. Do you have questions that need answers? Prayers that you’ve been praying for years? Today is the day. Ask our Shepherd to lead you to still waters.
Today is the day.
